Music for Yoga

Yoga music varies from the serene to energizing. There are a variety of yoga CD's that you can purchase. If you are looking for instructional yoga CD's you can find many free podcasts and audio recordings on iTunes.

Try Music for Yoga for a serene, meditative experience. Or try Yoga Groove for a more energizing yoga sequence.

For yoga or meditation music with vocals and chanting try WAH Savasana or Shiva Rea's Jala.
If you teach yoga then you can create
your own playlist as many yoga cd's do
not have music sequenced to
correspond with the flow of a class.

For example, here is an idea for a
typical one hour yoga class. The first
two songs should be quiet and serene
for centering and meditation. The next
20 minutes can be a little more active.
Follow this with a few energizing songs
for the most vigorous part of the class.
End it with music that starts to slow
down and perhaps a slow chanting
song at the end for savasana.
