Learning to Dance with a Partner
Do you wish you could dance like they do on "Dancing with the Stars"? For
many people ballroom dancing is just a fantasy because they think they are
uncoordinated and so they think they can't learn to dance.  But I have seen
the most uncoordinated people become very good dancers.  How did they do
it?  Determination!

Learning to dance gives you confidence and improves social skills.  Many
people have met their significant others and best friends through social
dancing (including me!) Learning to dance is also good for the brain and is
equivalent to learning a new language. When older people learn to dance it
improves their cognitive skills. No wonder they say that dancing keeps you
young!

So where do you start?  Start by finding a group class or private instructor if
you prefer private lessons. Usually you will not need a partner to start
because you will rotate partners in group classes in order to develop leading
and following skills. And if you can't find a local class in your area you can
start with dance instructional videos. Take a look at some of the dance
videos on this page and maybe you will be inspired to learn to dance!
